SA - Day 2

Slept. A lot. Woke up at noon or so and missed the guys going to Table Mountain. Showered. Ate cereal for my late breakfast. Watched the tail end of the SWE-AUS match. Watched cycling w/ Erling (a Norwegian clinical med student who I’ll be working with at SHAWCO this week). I found it pretty drab, but watched to be polite. Could have gone down to a busier street in Observatory, but wasn’t in the mood. Hans says cycling is for gays and women. I guess he’s a homophobic misogynist. Watched the US-Brazil game. We started watching 15 min in and I thought US scored, but apparently Brazil scored on their own goal. So including that one, Brazil scored 3 goals to America’s none. Shame. Had Fish Braai (bbq) while we watched the game. It was pretty good, but too much for me to finish. Had cider, which here actually contains alcohol. Everyone smokes in Europe, is what I might take away from living at this hostel. I couldn’t stand to sit outside any longer. Some of the SA guys here (not Shingi or Nyasha) are kind of assholes. They were just talking about getting laid and trying to screw foreigners while there were foreign girls are present.

USA just tied the game 2-2 at 120 min (2nd OT half). I’m following it online.

Gonna meet Dr Deffur tomorrow at 9AM.
